Hiring a Digital Marketing Agency in Pune
Lists of top agencies are usually paid for or built from self-reported claims. A better shortlist comes from evidence you can check yourself.
How to build one
- Start with problems, not agencies. Write two sentences on what you need to change in the next six months.
- Look for evidence close to your problem: real projects, described specifically, not logos.
- Ask people you trust who they use, and why they would or would not use them again.
- Aim for three names. More than that produces noise.
What counts as proof
| Claim | Better evidence |
|---|---|
| "We have served hundreds of brands" | Two or three projects described in detail, with what was done and what changed |
| "Award-winning" | Ask which award, from whom, for what work |
| A directory ranking | Ask how the ranking was decided and who paid |
| "Guaranteed results" | Nothing. Walk away |
Questions for the first meeting
- Who will work on my account, and will I speak to them?
- What would you look at before proposing anything?
- How will we know if it is working, and when will you tell me if it is not?
- What do you need from us, and what happens if we are slow?
- What do we keep if we stop?
A small paid test before a long contract
Where possible, start with a bounded piece of work, such as a diagnosis or a campaign for one offer. You learn how the agency thinks, communicates and reports, at low cost and low risk. Read about contracts in retainer or project pricing.
What a good first meeting feels like
The agency should ask you more questions than you ask them. They should want to know what you sell, who buys, how enquiries are handled and what has been tried. If the meeting is mostly a presentation about the agency, the interest is in winning the contract, not in your problem.
Talking to past clients
- Ask for two references, including one who left, if possible.
- Ask what the agency did well, what they did badly and whether the client would hire them again.
- Ask how the agency handled a problem.
Choosing between the last two
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Who will do the work? | The pitch team and the delivery team are not always the same |
| How will you tell me bad news? | Every account has problems, and how they are shared shows honesty |
| What will we see in the first month? | A concrete answer suggests a real process |
| What if we stop? | A clear exit shows confidence |
A simple scoring sheet
| Criterion | Agency A | Agency B | Agency C |
|---|---|---|---|
| Understood our problem | |||
| Relevant, checkable work | |||
| Clear scope and reporting | |||
| Named people on the account | |||
| Fair terms and exit | |||
| We would enjoy working with them |
A selection timeline that avoids rushing
Give yourself a few weeks. Write a short brief, meet three agencies, ask each to explain how they would approach your problem, check references and then decide. A month spent choosing well is worth more than a quick decision followed by a poor year.
If you are considering us
We are one of the agencies in Pune, so use the same checks on us. Our clearest Pune evidence is A.R. Rahman Live in Pune and NCPA Connections. On the process page, we say you speak to the senior partner on your account. Ask us to show you what a first report looks like. For an overview, see who we are and how we work, and for the cost side what an agency costs in Pune.
Try us with a diagnosis
If we are on your shortlist, a short diagnosis is a low-commitment way to see how we think.
